The Future is Female
Even though it’s Women’s History Month, we believe in supporting and shouting out women all year long. That’s why when we founded Grows As It Goes, we decided from the beginning that we would support women-owned and women-led companies. (P.S. When we say “women” we mean ALL women. As if there was ever a question! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤)
Still, since it’s March, there are more ways than ever to celebrate the accomplishments of women around the world. Here are just a few:
1. Attend a Smithsonian American Women’s History Initiative event
These free workshops from the Smithsonian are for kiddos ages 3-6 and their caregivers. We’re especially excited to learn more about painter Alma Thomas and make our own colorful artworks inspired by her legacy. Keep your fingers crossed that Vivian, who’s not yet three, will sit still and be thrilled to have screen time and art time at the same time!
2. Read up on the history of women entrepreneurs.
The online component of this 2018 exhibit from the National Women’s History Museum is interactive and runs through the history of milliners, millionaires, and self-made madames. We know women have been making, doing, working, and inventing for more than just the hundred years covered in the exhibit, but it’s no less impressive to learn about all the women who spent the last century creating.
3. Support our shop (and all our women makers!)
